Old Trafford weather report: On Day 2 of the fourth Test at Old Trafford in Manchester, Zak Crawley’s swashbuckling 189-run performance stunned Australia and kept England on course for an Ashes comeback.
Crawley struck 21 boundaries and three sixes during his 182-ball stay in the middle, scoring at a rate of 103.85. His blistering knock has boosted the hosts’ chances of leveling the five-match series at 2-2.
Before adding a double-century partnership with Joe Root, who was out for 84, Crawley put up an important 121-run stand with Moeen Ali.
Crawley and Root, however, both lost the ball on brief deliveries that stayed low. Despite losing a few wickets quickly, England recovered courtesy to an uninterrupted 33-run partnership between Ben Stokes and Harry Brook.
The hosts were in a strong position at 384/4 at the end of Day 2, with a 67-run advantage after the first inning.
In order to prevent Australia from having to bat again during the Test match, England will try to take a sizable lead and bowl them out.
After Day 2, Crawley spoke to BBC’s Test match special.
“We’d want to have a big lead and bowl them out in order to avoid having to bat again. However, things may alter if we lose a few early wickets on game day. That would be great, but we do not anticipate that; rather, we anticipate that they will bat competently.”
Old Trafford weather report for Day 3 of the Manchester weather prediction shows that rain is expected
Despite what the forecast said, Old Trafford did not experience any rain for the first two days. There is a potential that showers will ruin Day 3 all day long.
A 64 percent possibility of precipitation is forecast for the morning session, while a 30 percent likelihood is forecast for the second and third sessions, according to BBC Weather.
It will be chilly the entire time and the temperature will range between 16 and 17 degrees Celsius.
