ODI WC Qualifiers: The Sri Lankan Team Has Added Madushanka, Wellalage, and Arachchige as Replacements due to injuriesDilshan Madhushaka, Dunith Wellalage, and Sahan Arachige will travel to Zimbabwe to join the squad as standby players for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, according to a Tuesday announcement from Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).
On June 23, when Sri Lanka plays Oman in their second match of the tournament, the three players will join the team.
Both Madhushanka and Wellalage have played for Sri Lanka in 23 games and have received worldwide recognition. Arachige, who has no caps, bats in the top order with the left hand and can even pitch a few useful innings with the right arm off break.
The 27-year-old Arachchige has played domestic cricket for almost eight years, amassing 38 wickets and 1454 runs at an average of 29.67 in 66 List A Games.
After its pace leader Dushmantha Chameera missed their initial match due to a shoulder injury, Sri Lanka is trying to strengthen its Options.
