Due to issues with their travel from Paris to Turin, where Brazil is having a five-day camp before taking a flight to Doha, Neymar and Marquinhos showed up late for the first day of World Cup training on Monday.
Neymar arrives late for Brazil training owing to a travel delay
All 26 members of the team were expected to arrive on Monday morning to the Juventus training facility, but Neymar and Marquinhos, who represent Paris St. Germain, were delayed when an alternate plane had to be used owing to technical issues.
The two came in the afternoon as coach Tite was leading the first session, which consisted of easy drills involving the 14 members of the team who didn’t play for their clubs during the weekend.
At the conclusion of the workout, Marquinhos and Neymar joined the other athletes in the gym.
The goal, according to the Brazilian technical team, is to assess the players’ physical condition and manage their activity load over the first two days in Turin.
On Wednesday, they’re going to have their first official practise on the field.
On Nov. 24, Serbia will serve as Brazil’s World Cup Group G opener. The following days, Switzerland and Cameroon will be their opponents.
Neymar is a Brazilian professional footballer who currently plays as a forward for Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain as well as the Brazil national team. He is recognised as one of the top players in the world due to his prolific goalscoring and legendary playmaking. Neymar is one of three players in history to have scored at least 100 goals for three separate clubs.
Neymar rose to fame with Santos, when he made his debut as a professional at the age of 17. He contributed to the club’s victories in the 2011 Copa Libertadores, the first for Santos since 1963, the Copa do Brasil, and the Campeonato Paulista titles in back-to-back seasons. In 2011 and 2012, Neymar received two awards for South American Footballer of the Year. He then moved to Europe to join Barcelona.
He won the continental triple of La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the UEFA Champions League as a member of Barcelona’s offensive three, known as MSN alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. Later, in the 2015–16 campaign, he accomplished the domestic double. Neymar moved to PSG in 2017 for a transfer fee of €222 million, making him the most expensive player ever. His motivation was to serve as a talisman for his team.
