Next month, Sri Lanka will host Pakistan for a two-match Test Series: The first test will start on July 16 at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, and the second test will be played at the Singhalese Sports Club in Colombo from July 24 to July 28.
On July 9, Babar Azam’s team will fly into Sri Lanka, and on July 11, they will play a two-day warm-up match. According to a PCB statement, the warm-up fixture’s location has not yet been determined.
The South Asian side reached the goal of 342 during Pakistan’s 2022 trip to Sri Lanka for the two-match test series, recording the greatest run chase at the venue and winning the first test by four wickets. As the series ended in a 1-1 draw, the hosts struck back in the second test to tie it with a 246-run victory.
In 2014, Pakistan last participated in a test match at the Singhalese Sports Club in Colombo. At this location, they have played six tests, winning one, losing one, and drawing four times.
Pakistan’s first task in the ICC World Test Championship’s 2023–25 cycle will be the Sri Lanka series.
