The International Olympic Committee launched the very first Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP) in India this Tuesday. On this occasion, Neeta Ambani has opened up on growing opportunities in Sports. Neeta Ambani Opens Up on upcoming sports opportunities in India
The OVEP is a comprehensive collection of materials developed by the IOC to educate young people to the Olympic principles of brilliance, compassion, and camaraderie. The program’s goal is to distribute this values-based curriculum in order to assist youngsters to become active, healthy, and responsible individuals.
Naveen Patnaik, the Chief Minister of Odisha, formally started the initiative.
In its initial year, the initiative seeks to influence 32,000 students enrolled in 90 schools in the cities of Bhubaneswar and Rourkela, and then once fully operational, it will impact approximately 7 million children.
On this special occasion, Neeta Ambani talked about upcoming sports opportunities in India. “India is a place of immense chances and endless possibilities,” remarked Nita Ambani, a member of the International Olympic Committee, at the opening of Olympic Values Education Programme.
She also added that, “We have almost 250 million pupils in our schools, all of them are gifted and have great potential.” They are the champions of tomorrow, our country’s potential. Just a tiny percentage of children in the world will become Olympians, but the values of Olympism could impact every youngster. And that’s the purpose of OVEP, and it is this aim that gives it such an exciting potential for India. “I look forward to further developing the Olympic Society in our nation while we get ready to host the IOC Session 2023 in Mumbai next year.
