Neeraj Chopra reacted on an elusive 90m throw after Diamond League history: Two days ago Olympic champion and Indian javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra became the first ever Indian to win Diamond League. Competing in Switzerland the star thrower came up with the best throw of 89.08 m in his first attempt. His throw was enough for him to reach the top spot and qualify for next month’s Diamond League final.
Neeraj Chopra is yet to Breach 90 m the mark has now become necessary for winning tournaments. As Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem also has a bridge to the mark to win the gold medal in the Commonwealth games 2022.

On speaking about 90 M throw Neeraj said that there is no pressure it will happen when the time comes. He added “It has been a great year for me so far. I have given over 89m throws thrice out of the 5 competitions. 88.3 m in the world championship and managed to do well in Kuortane games with a throw of 86.69m. Despite their challenging weather. So the performance has been consistent and now the focus is to do well in the Zurich final. Yes, everyone is asking me about 90m throws, it will happen when the time comes. I don’t have any pressure about it as such.
Neeraj has also won the gold medal at Olympics with a throw of 87.58 M. He secured a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth with a throw of 86.47. The 29-year-old star champion is close to breaching the 90m mark and is expected to write his name in history books. His personal best throw is 89.94m and he achieved it recently at the Stockholm diamond league.
