NBA Jump: First National Try-outs In India To Begin on July 14 . On July 14th, 2022, the National Basketball Association’s NBA Jump will start. It is a talent scouting camp. This camp will offer a platform for budding basketball players.
The participants will be from across the nation. They will be here to compete with each other.
Participants will showcase their skills to the judges. It will help them to get additional basketball development opportunities.
The camp will be for three days. It will bring together around 30 most promising players of India.
These young players will be seen competing to get full scholarships. The successful ones will attend the NBA Academy India.
The academy is an exclusive basketball training center. It’s a training house for top prospects from across the nation.
The event first began on May 21, 2022. It was conducted at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi. It toured six cities in India. The cities include:

- Kottayam
- Ludhiana
- Mumbai
- Kolkata
- Chennai
The event was attended by more than 1600 players. This program is part of the NBA and ACG’s commitment to promoting basketball in India. It is designed to offer basketball players of the nation opportunities. It will help them to develop their skills. They will get trained under the guidance of NBA-certified coaches.
The 2022 edition of the ACG-NBA Jump returns after a two-year break. It happened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The ACG-NBA Jump got introduced first in 2015. It witnessed Palpreet Singh emerge as the top prospect in the inaugural edition. He participated in the 2016 NBA G League National Tryout. The event was organized in the United States. It was later designed by the Long Island Nets in the 2016 NBA G League Draft.
NBA Academy India is also supported by the ACG. It opened in 2017 and witnessed many players earn scholarships.
Many also signed professional contracts to prepare for schools and junior colleges in the US. It also includes Principal Singh who turned the first NBA Academy India player to get signed.
In the NBA G League, he was the first player from India. He won the NBA Summer League Championship.
