Musa Askan Yamak, an invincible boxer, dies in the midst of the ring
He was fighting Ugandan veteran Hamza Wandera until he fainted at the opening of the third round. He fell and was unconscious. The boxer gave his all during the match. As per Turkish official Hasan Turan, who wrote more about event on Twitter, the 38-year-old died of a heart attack.
“After a heart attack, we lost our comrade Musa Askan Yamak, a boxer from Alucra who gained European and Asian titles.” “I pray for God’s compassion on the departed, whom I met in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey when he travelled to Ankara for the competition, and my condolences to his bereaved family and supporters,” Turan said in his post.
According to the Sun, the video of the incident shows that Yamak taking a big hit from Wandera in the second round which wobbled him.
He was able to sit down on his stool at the end of the round but collapsed as he walked out one minute later. He was then rushed to a local hospital but he was declared dead of a heart attack on the arrival.
Germany-based Yamak had an undefeated 8-0 record, with all of his wins coming by knockout. He turned professional in the 2017, but made waves last year after winning the WBFed international title.
