Mumbai’s team for the Andhra match includes Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas Iyer will be hoping to get back into shape and bolster his preparations for the Tests against England. It is starting on January 25.
Iyer battled mightily with the bat throughout India’s two-match Test series in South Africa in difficult circumstances.
Mumbai is already without Prithvi Shaw, the opener, as he continues to heal from a knee injury. It is anticipated that captain Ajinkya Rahane, who was sidelined by neck spasms during the first match against Patna, will play in the Andhra encounter.
Mumbai had defeated Patna by an innings and 51 runs. Because of the efforts of all-rounder Shams Mulani when Rahane was out.

Mumbai’s team for the Andhra match includes Shreyas Iyer
India’s Shreyas Iyer, a batter, has been included in Mumbai’s team for their match against Andhra in the upcoming Ranji Trophy 2023–24. It gets underway on Friday, January 12. Iyer was left off of India’s team for the three-match Twenty20 International series that starts on Thursday, January 11. For the five-match Test series that India will play over England later this month, he has been included in the team.
Iyer will play in a domestic match for Mumbai for the initial time since the 2018–19 campaign. With Sarfaraz Khan and Shivam Dube out of the game, Iyer’s comeback will help Mumbai in the next encounter.
Dube is part of India’s team for the Twenty20 Internationals against Afghanistan. Sarfaraz is a member of India A squad for a two-day tour match against the England Lions.
After having back surgery last year, which prevented him from playing in the West Indies trip and the World Test Championship Final, Iyer returned to the Indian team for the Asia Cup.
He was the third-highest scorer for the home team behind skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli with 530 runs, including two hundreds and three fifties, during the ODI World Cup for India.
In the four starts he made during the South Africa Test series, he was unable to get a longer innings. In the Centurion Test, he scored 31 runs in the opening innings, which was his greatest contribution of the series.
Iyer will want to get in the zone for the difficult home game with an eye toward the England Tests. Hyderabad will host the opening Test of the series starting on January 25.
