Mohamed Salah, like Sadio Mane, is expected to depart Liverpool this summer. According to sources, the Egyptian midfielder and the club have been at odds for over a year over his wage demand of £400,000 per week to sign a new contract.
Mo Salah is likely to exit from Liverpool
Salah netted 31 goals for Liverpool previous season, making him the Premier League’s joint top scorer alongside Tottenham forward Son Heung-min. The pair each scored 23 goals and received the top individual award.
Since Salah’s arrival at Liverpool in 2017, hate crimes in Merseyside (home of Liverpool FC) have decreased by 16%, while Liverpool FC fans have cut their rates of sending anti-Muslim tweets in half when compared to fans of many other top-tier clubs.
“If he gets a couple more, I’ll be a Muslim as well.” He’s at the mosque, and that’s where I want to be… Salah-la-la-la-la-la.” At 2018, football-crazed white supporters in Liverpool’s stadiums and pubs started singing the song about Mo Salah, the Afro-haired Egyptian footballer who plays for their team in the English Premier League.
If rumours are correct, Salah will be the club’s second major signing following Sadio Mane. The Senegal attacker has left Anfield in a €41 million (£35 million/$43 million) trade to join the Bundesliga champions, ending a six-year stay with Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.
Salah and Mane had formed among the most lethal attack partnerships in British footballing history.
They set a Premier League milestone earlier in the season since they both scored in the same game for the 30th time.
Mane’s Senegal overcame Salah’s Egypt again in deciding matches, first to win the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and subsequently to secure a place in the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
