MLC 2023: Texas Super Kings sign Ambati Rayudu, Devon Conway, and Mitchell Santner as players: Ambati Rayudu will play for the Texas Super Kings in the forthcoming Major Tournament Cricket (MLC) T20 tournament after helping Chennai Super Kings (CSK) win the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 last month.
In the MLC 2023, Rayudu’s CSK colleagues Devon Conway and Mitchell Santner of New Zealand will also compete. Rayudu withdrew from the sport after the IPL 2023 and will take part in his maiden franchise league competition outside of India.
Conway, who scored a rapid 25 off of 47 in CSK’s successful chase of 171 in 15 Overs, won the Player of the Match award in the three-day IPL 2023 final that was postponed due to rain at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rayudu also made a quick eight off of 19 in the winning effort.
Stephen Fleming, who is also the head coach of Johannesburg Super King in the South African Twenty20 league and CSK, will lead the team. Dwayne Bravo, who oversaw the bowling for CSK during their IPL 2023 victory, will compete for the Texas team in the MLC 2023.
The Texas Franchise will also be funded by Australian fast all-rounder Daniel Sams and players David Miller and Gerald Coetzee from South Africa. Coetzee participated in this year’s SA20 for the Jo’burg Super Kings.
The assistants for Fleming will be Eric Simmons and Albie Morkel. Sami Aslam, Rusty Theron, Saiteja Mukkamalla, Milind Kumar, Cody Chetty, Calvin Savage, Zia Shehzad, Cameron Stevenson, and Lahiru Milantha were participants in the MLC.
In the Inaugural Six team league set to be played from July 14-31, Texas Super Kings will be taking on Los Angels Knight Riders at the Grand Prairie stadium in Dallas, Texas on the first day of the competition. Other teams in the competition include Los Angels Knight Riders, MI New York, Washington Freedom, and Seattle Orcas.
