MLB Draft 2022: New York Yankees’s pick round Northeastern Pitcher Cam Schlittler in 7th round
MLB Draft 2022: In major league basketball Draft 2022, 7th round Northeastern Pitcher Cam Schlittler has been drafted by the Yankees. The NY Yankees picked him 7th Draft, making him the highest drafted husky in the last 6 years.
The 21-year-old boy, with 448th rank in America, showed a lot in breakout season 2021. In CAA( Colonial Athletic Association) 76.2 innings, earning a 1.88 ERA, a 1.017 WHIP, and 85 Strikeouts.
Later, he went to the Cape Cod League that summer, but he didn’t have much success there. 2022 was not bad, but he didn’t live up to his expectations. Pitching 91.2 innings in 2022, posting 3.44 ERA and 85 strikeouts. Northeastern Baseball posted his 3 out of the first four strikeouts in April.

Northeastern announced his draft to the Yankees on the official account
Northeastern Baseball’s official Twitter account handle posted his draft news. The tweet says ” The New York Yankees selects…. From Northeastern University, Cam Schlittler! He already looks good in Pine stripes @Yankees!”
Cam is the highest draft pick from Northeastern after Aron Civale, who was the 92nd overall pick in 2016. He is the 10th all-time Northeastern draft pick before the 10th round.
Schlittler is part of the popular and sensational Northeastern freshman class of pitches in 2019-20. The sensational class yielded 3 picks in the draft that was concluded on Tuesday.
Schlittler is a 6-foot-6 right-hander who will leave Northeastern with a 14-9 record, and 2.62 average runs.
He has a total of 180 strikeouts in 182 innings, 31 appearances including 30 starts. If he can reach his Sophomore form, he can be a potential stick as a starter.
He is the 5th college arm selection among 7 selected by the Yankees. It would be interesting to see if he could bring out his best in the NY Yankees.
