The final test for the English hitters and their Bazball style will be playing against India on the subcontinent, according to former England captain Michael Vaughan’s.
India and England’s five-match series gets underway in January 2024 after their previous matchup in England ended in a 2-2 tie.
However, over the past 12 months, both sides have enjoyed success in the red-ball format. Since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum took over as captain and coach, respectively, England’s Test results have improved, winning 13 of their last 18 matches.
They have triumphed against South Africa, New Zealand, and Pakistan during this time, during which they have not lost a single series.
In the meantime, Team India earned a spot in the 2021–23 World Test Championship (WTC) championship game. In the just finished two-Test series, Rohit Sharma and company also trounced the West Indies.
Michael Vaughan expressed his interest in the idea of the English batsmen playing the Bazball style of cricket at home against a strong Indian team in an interview with Cricbuzz following the fourth Ashes Test.
“The main question is whether it would be strong enough to win in India. I seriously doubt it because India rarely loses at home, especially when the game is close. India is certain to win the series, but Vaughan predicted that the large Indian crowds would return to watch England.
Without a spinner who can compete on a global scale, the former England captain questioned England’s chances of triumphing in India.
“Without a top-tier spinner, “Can England achieve 20 wickets? The greatest obstacle will be met, but they’ll play in the Bazball fashion and try to put India under strain, he continued.”
In 131 games, England has a 50-31 advantage over the other two teams in Test matches. However, after their historic series victory in 2012/13. England has only won one Test match and lost seven of their nine matches in India.
The Bazballers will draw that throng because everyone will want to see them play, according to Michael Vaughan‘s
Given the style of cricket England plays. Michael Vaughan thought the declining Test match attendance in India should cause a stir when they come in January.
Team India has experienced a decline in stadium attendance since the introduction of T20 cricket. Despite being the top-ranked Test side for a number of years.
“When I watch Indian Test matches, I see that the stadiums aren’t as packed with spectators as they once were during the 1980s and 1990s. People will congregate to watch the Bazballers because they are so entertaining. They’ll try to bat 60 to 65 overs, scoring 5 runs each over, to reach 300 to 350 points, Vaughan said.
The two teams will, however, be concentrating on the upcoming ODI World Cup in India, which begins in October. Before the highly anticipated Test series.
The current champion is England, who prevailed in a thrilling final in 2019. India will attempt to snap a 10-year ICC title drought at home
