In the 17th match of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL), the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on the Rajasthan Royals (RR) on April 12. Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana have joined the Sri Lankan team, which will be welcomed by the Men in Yellow. However, they will be without Deepak Chahar and Ben Stokes, who are both recovering from toe injuries.
On the other hand, RR has a huge roster from which to choose. Since the Chepauk surface assisted slower bowlers the previous time around, they may require additional spinners.
The teams CSK and RR are expected to field in Match 17 of the IPL 2023 are listed here.
Note: Playing XIs will undoubtedly change significantly in IPL 2023, with the presentation of the effect player rule as well as commanders getting the opportunity to name their side after the consequence of the throw is known.
CSK Expected to Play 11 vs. RR in the 2023 IPL
CSK might want to beef up their spin department now that Theekshana is available for selection. The excellent Mitchell Santner could work with the Sri Lankan.
Moeen Ali may also make the starting XI now that he has recovered from illness. Devon Conway will be the team’s final international player in the absence of Stokes. Dwaine Pretorius and Sisanda Magala would also be left out of that.
The Super Kings could select Rajvardhan Hangargekar to replace Chahar in the starting lineup. Another option is Simarjeet Singh, and the pacer and Ambati Rayudu are likely to switch places on the impact subs list.
CSK’s predicted playing XI for:
- Devon Conway
- Ruturaj Gaikwad
- Moeen Ali
- Ajinkya Rahane
- Shivam Dube
- Ravindra Jadeja
- MS Dhoni (c & wk)
- Mitchell Santner
- Maheesh Theekshana
- Rajvardhan Hangargekar
- Tushar Deshpande.
Impact player candidates:
- Simarjeet Singh
- Ambati Rayudu
- Nishant Sindhu
- Prashant Solanki
- Akash Singh.
RR Predicted Playing 11 vs CSK in IPL 2023
RR’s lineup is stable and doesn’t need to be changed a lot. Kuldeep Sen hasn’t played a game in IPL 2023 so far as he keeps on recuperating from an issue that has kept him uninvolved.
The Royals might be tempted to sign Murugan Ashwin or Akash Vashisht as an additional spinner. However, that might leave them with insufficient pace-related firepower. As a result, they might rely on the cutters of Sandeep Sharma and Jason Holder to accomplish the task.
Adam Zampa is still a good option, but Trent Boult and Jason Holder probably won’t go down. So the effect sub could be among Sandeep and M Ashwin.
RR’s predicted playing XI:
- Jos Buttler
- Yashasvi Jaiswal
- Sanju Samson (c & wk)
- Riyan Parag
- Shimron Hetmyer
- Dhruv Jurel
- Jason Holder
- Ravichandran Ashwin
- Sandeep Sharma
- Trent Boult
- Yuzvendra Chahal.
Impact player candidates:
- Devdutt Padikkal
- KM Asif
- Akash Vashisht
- Murugan Ashwin
- Navdeep Saini.
