Maria has taken over as captain of the Pakistani women’s football team, replacing Hajra. A month before the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship, the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) named Maria Khan as the new captain of the Pakistan women’s football team.
The goalkeeper, who is now a midfielder, grew up in the United States and played football for the University of Denver before going to school in the United Arab Emirates. She played for a local club in the UAE.
She is one of only two foreign players on Pakistan’s team for the SAFF Championship, which starts on September 6 in Nepal. Nadia Khan, who plays for Doncaster Rovers in the UK, has also been chosen to play for Pakistan in the SAFF Women’s Cup.
When Pakistan’s women’s team played its last international match in 2014, Hajra Khan was the captain. After that, Maria took over for her. However, Hajra will still be a player on the team.
Vice Captain and More
Malika-e-Noor is now the team’s vice-captain. She was also on the team that played Pakistan’s last senior women’s football game in 2014
The federation has also made sure that the SAFF Women Cup team has 23 people. On August 24, Geo put out a list of all the players.
Aside from Hajra and Malika-e-Noor, Nisha Ashraf, Roshan Ali, Sahar Zaman, Mahpara Shahid, and Zulfia Nazir were also on the Pakistan women’s team in 2014. They are all on the 23-person squad for the SAFF Cup 2022.
Atika Nasir comes from the same group of people. She went to the camp before the tournament, but she didn’t play in the tournament in Islamabad.
On Sunday, the women’s football team from Pakistan will go to Nepal.
