Marcus Rashford, a star player for Manchester United, reportedly turned down a move to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) last summer. The England international turned down a staggering £400,000 per week offer from the French Ligue 1 champions, as The Athletic reported.
After having the worst season of his career, Rashford was the subject of a lot of talk about moving to PSG last summer. In the 32 games he played for Manchester United last season, the forward only scored five goals and provided two assists.
However, the Englishman decided to remain with his childhood club, despite the fact that PSG was delighted to acquire him in the summer. Under the direction of the new manager, Erik ten Hag, Rashford has done an incredible job of turning around his fortunes this season.
He has been one of the best players in Europe this time around, scoring 27 goals in 44 games and turning provider nine times this season. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi himself affirmed his side’s advantage over the powerful assailant and conceded the Ligue 1 goliaths were in converses with the Manchester Joined forward.
He also said that the attacker would be traded to Paris Saint-Germain when his contract ends in the summer of 2024.
Al-Khelaifi stated, via GOAL, prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup,
“He’s another amazing player who plays for free? Every team will chase Rashford if they can get him for free. Yes, we spoke before with interest, but the time was not favorable for either side. We would be interested in speaking with him in January, hopefully.”
With Rashford’s contract set to expire in 2024, Manchester United finds themselves in a tricky position. His current £200,000-a-week contract is thought to be seeking a 12-month extension from the Red Devils. Additionally, they are desperate to sign Rashford to a new contract.
As clubs begin negotiations to add an €85 million release clause to the contract of the transfer target, PSG and Manchester United traded blows:
According to reports, Napoli intends to include an €85 million release clause in their star defender Kim Min-jae’s contract. PSG and Manchester United, among others, have shown an interest in the Korea Republic international.
The middle back has seen his stock ascent decisively following his €18 million move from Fenerbahce the previous summer. He has played a significant role in Luciano Spalletti’s team, which is cruising toward the Serie A title and the Champions League semifinals.
