Marc Cucurella says he will never cut his hair, even after what happened with Cristian Romero, and the new Chelsea player tells where he plays best. Even though his hair was at the center of the drama at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, Marc Cucurella says he will never get it cut. Cristian Romero, a defender for Tottenham, grabbed the Chelsea player by the hair just before the visitors tied the game.
The fiery 2-2 draw had a strange way to end, which made manager Thomas Tuchel very angry. However, Mike Dean, who works for VAR, looked at what happened and decided that it didn’t warrant a red card. From what was seen, Romero won’t have to deal with any consequences.
What Cururella things
Cucurella said, “Good, good,” when asked how his hair looks.
“I didn’t see the video, but I think it’s pretty clear,” the Chelsea summer signing said about what happened. It could be one mistake on the part of the referee or VAR. Referees sometimes make good decisions and sometimes make bad ones.
“This is not my problem. The players are focused on the game. Maybe we need to work hard not to concede a goal in the last minute in the next games.”
When asked if the referee had talked to him about his decision, Cucurella said, “Nothing. The referee I think was checking to red card or not. For me it is clear and I think the video is very clear.”
“In this moment, I don’t know what happened. Sometimes it is good, sometimes it is bad. This is football.”
When asked if he would get a haircut, Cucurella said, “No, never. It is my style.”
This summer, Chelsea paid up to £60 million for the left-back from Brighton. Man City also made offers for him.
Ben Chilwell is already a left-sided defender for the Blues, and Cucurella said where he thinks he would be best.
“The three positions on the left side are good for me,” he said. “I think my best position is left-back of a back four.”
“I played all my career in the academies in that position. I have more movement and I stay more comfortable.”
“If the gaffer put me in another position then I run as well. I need to be good for him.”
Thomas Tuchel prefers to play with a back-three and wing-backs, so that he may be disappointed.
Still, Cucurella was happy to play for Chelsea and said, “The summer was busy. A lot of rumours and I think it was a good moment for me to a big club. Chelsea is a big club.”
“I’m very happy to stay here, they were interested in me all summer and I’m happy to stay here.
“It’s a lot of money and it’s a big responsibility for me, but I’m happy because the offer and interest from me to come here.”
“I will work hard, add to the team and want to win and play good for the club.”
