Mangalore United – Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament
Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament: Maharaja Trophy is the Karnataka State Cricket Association’s brand new T20 tournament. It will begin in August 2022. The competition has replaced the Karnataka Premier League (KPL) which ran for eight seasons until 2019.
The Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament features six teams. Unlike the KPL, the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament is not franchise based with team owners. It is based on team sponsors. The sponsors for the tournament are Cycle Pure Agarbathies, Kalyani Motors, and Fiza Developers.
The players are picked through a draft system. There is no auction.0 The draft event was held on July 30, 2022.

Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 Schedule, Fixtures, Timing
The inaugural edition of the KSCA Maharaja T20 tournament is set to begin on August 7. The final of the same is scheduled to take place on August 26.

“Mangalore United will feature in the upcoming Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 tournament which will commence from August 7 in Mysuru,” stated KSCA secretary Santhosh Menon.
The Maharaja Trophy was revealed at Fiza by Nexus Mall on Wednesday, August 3.
Santhosh Menon said, “The T20 tournament will be held from August 7 till August 26. The matches will be organized at Mysuru and Bengaluru. The tournament will be organized in memory of SDNR Wadeyar who was instrumental in starting the T20 tournament KPL along with Brijesh Patel back in 2009. Six teams will play in the tournament such as Bengaluru Blasters, Hubli tigers, Gulbarga Mystics, Mangalore United, Shivmogga Strikers, and Mysore Warriors.”
B M Farooq, founder, and CMD of Fiza Group of Companies said, “We wish to help to improve the level of cricket in Mangaluru and provide young cricketers a platform to shine with our support. Mangalore United is glad to have Nexus group as the title sponsor. We are in constant touch with KSCA regarding constructing a state-of-the-art cricket stadium in Mangaluru. In the next 1-2 years, it will turn into a reality.”
Santosh Menon mentioned, “We are trying our best and keeping in touch with the local administration to construct a stadium in Mangalore. This time we are hopeful and guarantee that there will be an international stadium in Mangalore within the next two years.”
Stuart Binny is the head coach for Mangalore United. R Samarth is set to lead the team.
