Rachel Williams, a seasoned striker from Tottenham, has joined Manchester United Women on a free transfer. The 34-year-old has a contract that runs until the 2023–2024 season. Williams, who has 13 England caps, was let go by Tottenham this summer when her contract expired. During her two years at the club, she made 41 appearances and scored eight goals.

She and United’s head coach Marc Skinner previously collaborated at Birmingham City Women from 2017 to 2019. They are now back together.
Williams has also played for Doncaster Rovers Belles, Chelsea Women, and Notts County Ladies in the top division.

Williams spent two years at Notts County Ladies, one year at Chelsea Ladies, and three years at her first stint at Birmingham City, where she was transformed from an attacking midfielder to a striker, before returning to Birmingham City in May 2017. Williams earned her senior England debut in July 2009, although she wasn’t selected for the 2009 Women’s Euro or the 2011 Women’s World Cup and had to wait two years before making another appearance. She was chosen for the Great Britain Olympic team for the 2012 London Games.
Williams started playing for Leicester City Women when she was twelve years old and worked her way up from their centre of excellence to the senior team.
She served as vice captain as the team won the County League in 2005, and the next year, she was a part of the team that not only repeated as champions of the County League but it also took home the County Cup.
Williams played for the Leicester team that won the East Midlands Women’s Premier League title, the County Cup, the League Cup, and promotion to the Midlands Combination League in the 2006–07 season. She was a member of Leicester’s squad that earned promotion to the FA Women’s Premier League Northern Division the rest of the season.
