As of now, Cristiano Ronaldo is not coming with Manchester United to Australia for their club tour. He has been given some time off by the team to deal with personal issues, which appear to be outside soccer.
“United revealed that Ronaldo would not be leaving on the scheduled flight to Thailand due to a family issue,” United noted in a statement.
It’s not clear if the Red Devils will transfer him out of the club. There is no official confirmation yet that he will miss games in Melbourne or Perth. He’s also been injured recently, which could make his permanent transfer to another club difficult.
New Manchester United manager, Erik Ten Hag, on Monday expressed further uncertainty about whether Ronaldo will be in Australia.
Manchester United will play three games in Australia this week, of which they will most likely get two wins. They will start their time in Melbourne with a match against Melbourne Victory and then travel to Perth to play against Aston Villa on the fourth day.
