According to reports, Manchester United are hoping to take advantage of RB Leipzig’s deal to sign RB Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko. Next summer, the Red Devils are expected to look into signing a center forward. Victor Osimhen of Napoli and Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur are said to be on Erik ten Hag’s radar.
Manchester United, on the other hand, have expressed an interest in Sesko, 19, in the past, and it would appear that they are tempted to steal Leipzig’s deal for the Slovenian superstar. The young striker is expected to move to the Bundesliga this summer, according to Football Insider, but the Red Devils are still keeping an eye on him.
Sesko has scored 11 goals in 30 games across all competitions during his meteoric rise in the Austrian Bundesliga. When Salzburg defeated Rapid Wien 4-2 on March 5, he scored a hat trick.
Due to his physique and scoring prowess, the Slovenian has drawn comparisons to Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. The Norwegian also got his start in life in Salzburg. According to SportBible, the frontman said in an interview last year that his teammates think he is a better attacker than the top goalscorer in the Premier League:
” I’m energized and motivated by these comparisons. They are not a sign of pressure. I’ll pay attention and learn in order to surpass his level of excellence. According to my teammates at the club, Haaland and I share many similarities, particularly in terms of speed. The majority of them even claim that I’m superior to him!”
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Leipzig has agreed to pay Sesko €20 million. On July 1, he will join the German giants. The Slovenian forward is still on Manchester United’s short list of forwards to help Ten Hag rebuild his attack.
After Cristiano Ronaldo left Old Trafford in November, they have yet to find a true replacement. Wout Weghorst joined the team from Burnley last month on loan until the season’s end. Beyond that point, it is unlikely that the Dutch striker will remain with the Red Devils.
Marcus Rashford of Manchester United, according to Sir Alex Ferguson, is not a striker.
This season, Rashford has been heavily tasked with scoring for Manchester United. There were question marks over how Ten Witch’s side would act before objective following Ronaldo’s exit.
But Rashford has done well, scoring 25 goals in 40 games, a career high. Ferguson has maintained that the English attacker is not a center forward despite this. The former manager of the Red Devils believes that he performs best on the left flank:
Ferguson went on to discuss the ways in which he thinks Manchester United could benefit from acquiring a second striker:
Additionally, he has excellent form. Sadly for us, he is our primary goal source; We could use another one.
Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, and Anthony Elango are all options for Ten Hag on United’s left flank. However, with Weghorst struggling for goals and Anthony Martial out with an injury, he has few options up top.
