Before the 2023–24 season, Declan Rice, an Arsenal target and West Ham United captain, is said to be a target for Manchester City. Over the past three seasons, Rice, 24, has established himself as one of the world’s best defensive midfielders. He has contributed to his team’s respectable sixth and seventh-place finishes in the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons since becoming a regular starter for the Hammers.
Rice, a center-of-the-park player with a right foot, has attracted a lot of Arsenal transfer interest in recent months. The Englishman has been linked to a move away from the London Stadium, as his current deal runs out in June 2024. The Times claims that City has identified Rice as one of their top summer transfer targets.
Jude Bellingham, a gifted player for Borussia Dortmund, Ben Chilwell, a left-back for Chelsea, and Rafael Leao, a forward for AC Milan, is also on their priority transfer list. Rice would provide Rodri, Kevin De Bruyne, and Kalvin Phillips with elite competition if he were to move to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
In four months, City captain Ilkay Gundogan is expected to leave on a free transfer, and Bernardo Silva is likely to leave for a significant sum. Rice, who is worth more than £100 million, has made 222 appearances for West Ham across all competitions and scored 11 goals, and contributed 12 assists.
Arsenal and Manchester City are included in Harry Redknapp’s prediction for the PL title :
Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp claimed on the Mennie Talks podcast that Pep Guardiola’s team would win the Premier League this season over Arsenal. He stated, “I don’t know, but I still think Manchester City will win,” says the author. I believe they will soon arrive with a rally.
However, it will be tight. Manchester City is the one team you don’t want chasing you down, even though Arsenal will need some help. Redknapp communicated his opinions on the Cityzens’ squad depth, saying:
“I’d say, ‘Yeah fine,’ but Manchester City are so dangerous if someone else was chasing them. Simply examine their bench. Phil Foden and Ruben Dias haven’t been playing, and they would play for any other Premier League team. It is absurd that Pep Guardiola can make adjustments anywhere on the field.
However, I believe Arsenal will face a significant challenge if a few players are injured. With 50 points from 20 games, the Gunners currently lead the Premier League standings, while City has 45 points from 21 games.
