Manashi Joshi and Manisha Ramadass win gold in the Canada International Para Tournament in Ottawa
Joshi, the incumbent world champion have won all of her round-robin matches. She defeated fellow Indian Parul Parmar, France’s Coraline Bergeron, Japan’s Noriko Ito, and Ukrainian Oksana Kozyna.
Throughout the final, Mansasi Joshi rebounded from a show down to reach the second game and pushed there until the finish to defeat her Ukrainian competitor 21-18, 15-21, 22-20. Manasi Joshi has won the women’s singles championship four times in recent years.

Ramadass also won the women’s singles SU5 gold medal after sweeping the Fazza Dubai 2022 International championship. The 17-year-old from Chennai held her cool and battled her way to a 27-25, 21-9 triumph over Japan’s Akiko Sugino in the final. This is her fourth women’s singles gold medal in the SU5 division this year.
Meanwhile, Paralympic gold medalist Pramod Bhagat had to content for silver after losing 14-21, 21-9, 15-21 versus his biggest rival Daniel Bethell. This is Bhagat’s second loss against England’s Paralympic silver medalist since about the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
