Maharaja T20: Manish Pandey Shines As Gulbarga Mystics Win A Thriller Match Against Shivamogga Strikers by 3 Wickets, The Gulbarga Mystics defeated the Shivamogga Strikers by 3 wickets at the Srikantadatta Narasimha Raja Wadiyar Ground in Mysore on 9th August 2022. This was Gulbarga’s first win in the Maharaja T20 competition. Avinash’s five wickets were not enough to get the Strikers over the line.
Batting first, the Shivamogga Strikers went on to lose to Stallin Hoover in the second delivery of the innings. Rohan Kadam and Siddharth prevented the Gulbarga Mystics’ attack. Both Rohan and Siddharth were quite watchful to start with.
Rohan scored 53 from 41 balls. This score included the smashing of three boundaries and two sixes. Siddharth, on the other hand, added 53 runs from 51 balls, smashing four boundaries and a six during his stay. The duo had a 108-run stand together. They provided a strong foundation of runs for their team. The duo laid the platform to flourish in the final overs of the innings.
Sharath BR (9), and Smaran R (3) failed to capitalize, leaving captain K Gowtham (23) and Avinash D (20) with the responsibility of some heavy lifting. For Gulbarga, Karthik CA successfully bagged 3 wickets. The Strikers were at 175 runs for 8 wickets.
In response, the Mystics got off to a quick start with Devdutt Padikkal and Jeswath Acharya with Acharya on strike. Padikkal departed for 9 runs in the 5th over. Jeswath and Rohan Patil built the innings.
Jeswath was dismissed scoring 30 runs from 17 deliveries. Rohan Patil managed to score 28 runs to the cause. Captain Manish Pandey and Krishnan Shrijith together put up a 32-run stand.
With Manish on the ground, the Mystics hoped to make the chase. But soon, he lost another partner, Manoj Bhandage, who was sent back for 5 runs. And a few deliveries later, Bangalore Mohith followed in his footsteps for 1. The Mystics were left in a spot of bother.
In the 18th over, Manish completed his half-century. But soon after, Manish got out for 50 from 36 deliveries. However, Ritesh Bhatkal did not give in. He worked hard until it was just 4 runs in the final over needed to win. Karthik ended the game with a four, providing the Mystics with a much-needed win in this tournament.
