Last summer, Liverpool paid a reported cost of £16.2 million to sign Endo. However, since joining Liverpool from VfB Stuttgart, he has done well to complement his colleagues and serve a vital role.
The 30-year-old required a few months to adjust to the intensity of the club and league, but he is now a regular in Jurgen Klopp’s starting XI.
Former Liverpool striker John Aldridge lauded Endo’s efforts but said that Joe Gomez may step in for the Japanese midfielder during his possible month-long absence.
Joe Gomez is now the club’s longest-serving player. He has made 198 appearances for the Reds since signing from Charlton Athletic in 2015, despite a couple of key injuries. Gomez has played as a center-back, right-back, and even left-back for Liverpool.
Jamie Carragher suggests two players who can help Liverpool adapt in the absence of Mohamed Salah.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes the Reds can cope without Mohamed Salah and has picked two individuals who can step in for the Egyptian. Salah will represent Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2024.
Salah will be a significant loss for Jurgen Klopp’s team since he is now the league’s leading scorer and assists creator. Carragher, on the other hand, believes Harvey Elliott or Dominik Szoboszlai may assist the Reds in dealing with the problem.
