Liverpool complete loan signing of Juventus midfielder
Liverpool complete loan signing of Juventus midfielder: Footballer Arthur Melo has signed a loan deal with Liverpool. Arthur has been at Juventus since 2020 after moving from Barcelona. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp admitted his team need reinforcements in midfield and that the club remain without the injured Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita.
Liverpool have reached a deal with Juventus for the season-long loan of midfielder Arthur Melo as an option to purchase for £32m.
Liverpool’s loan deal for Thiago Alcantara will ease the club’s middle of the park injury dilemma. All four top midfielders on the Reds’ roster are out with injuries, so Thiago will be in action soon.
Juventus has signed Liverpool’s Brazilian midfielder, Fabinho, for an initial €5 million loan fee, with a permanent transfer in place for €40 million.
the Brazilian told the Liverpool official website that he believes that moving to the club was the right decision, and is happy and highly motivated to live his dream to give an impact with a liverpool shirt.
The addition of Curtis Jones and Thiago will reinforce the first-team squad. No one within the club feels a sense of urgency to find more new players.
Liverpool have an interest in the transfer market, but only if they can sign the right player.
Liverpool preferred to target a player with more experience. However, the opportunity arose to take on Arthur, and he filled the Liverpool midfield position.
Gremio is Arthur’s first club. He started his professional career with them and had a modest 72 game spell there, which yielded four goals. He then joined Barcelona in the summer of 2018.
Arthur then joined Juventus in June 2020 and has made 63 appearances for them over the last two years. He was also part of Brazil’s Copa America-winning squad, assisting Gabriel Jesus’ goal at the end of the first half as they beat Peru 3-1.
I’m not sure if Arthur Melo will be a major contributor to the team. We all watched him grow at Barcelona and then move to Juventus, but now he doesn’t seem to be impressing. You can see his potential, but it looks like Melo never shows up on game day.
He has had conflicts with coaches who are not compatible with his tactics, but he is not unprofessional. It’s just that Klopp is a genius when it comes to extracting potential in those who are not fully aware of it.
He is surplus to requirements at Juventus, but they are desperate to show what he can do and hope that he will take off at Liverpool.
