LeBron James has added his name to the list of NBA players who have been surprised by an offer from Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal for French striker Kylian Mbappe.
Though the Los Angeles Lakers star mocked the multi-million dollar deal that Al Hilal has put in place to acquire Mbappe’s services.
However, he posted a clip of Forrest Gump’s run on Twitter to share his sentiments. He captioned his post, writing, “When @RichPaul4 and @mavcarter were called up for that 1-year contract, I moved to Saudi Arabia!”.
As we know, Al Hilal shocked the sporting world on Monday when it was reported that he had made a $1.1bn offer for Mbappe.
How much will Mbappe earn?
Furthermore, the surprise offer includes a transfer fee of $332 million for Paris Saint-Germain and a salary of $776 million for one year for Mbappe. Sources analyzed that huge offer and said that Mbappe would earn €22 per second, €1,332 per minute, €80,000 per hour, €1.9 million per day, €13.3 million per week, €58.3 million per month, and €700 million.
Also, LeBron James is a billionaire!
Moreover, James is also a billionaire, according to Yahoo, due to his lifetime contract with Nike and other investment deals. He is set to earn roughly $47 million with the Lakers next season, and if he picks up his player option with Los Angeles, his contract will be worth more than $50 million in the 2024/25 season. The numbers are still small compared to the amount Mbappe will receive from Al Hilal after accepting the offer.
Did Giannis wants to move to Al Hilal?
Therefore, one NBA player who volunteered his services to the Saudi club after Mbappe was offered was Giannis Antetokounmpo. Sources reported that the ‘Greek monster’ joked in his Twitter post that he would gladly replace the Frenchman at Al Hilal.
Antetokounmpo, recently tweeted: “Al Hilal, you can take me. I look like Kylian Mbappe.” To this came a reply from Mbappe, who responded with a dozen laughing emojis.
