Late Olympian Chandrasekharan ’s picture to be displayed on the ground in Kerala: The image of Olympic medalist Chandrasekharan will soon be on exhibit in the pavilion that is situated on the grounds of Maharaja’s College very soon.
On Saturday, members of the governing council of Maharaja’s college got together for a meeting to discuss the idea before reaching a conclusion about whether or not to proceed with the plan. Following the meeting, they came to the conclusion that they should proceed with the idea.
The governing council of Maharaja’s old students’ society (OSA) requested that the piece of artwork be hung, and the OSA council chose to hang the picture in response to the request made by the governing council.
Chandrasekharan began his career as a performer on the stage at Maharaja’s College Ground in the middle of the 1950s.
His time spent practising at the stadium was one of the most important contributors to his overall growth as a player, which finally resulted in him becoming one of the most accomplished players in the league.
In the year 1960, he was a member of the Indian football squad that took part in the Olympic competition in Rome. The competition was held for football.
The Olympic Stadium served as the location for the competition. He was a member of the Indian squad that took gold at the Jakarta Asian Games in 1962, as stated by CICC Jayachandran, the immediate past president of the Olympic and Paralympic Association of India (OSA).
Cancer
Chandrasekharan lost his long and ultimately hopeless struggle with cancer on August 24, 2021, and he passed away shortly thereafter. He had been fighting the sickness for a number of years at that point.
We are going to remember him on the first anniversary of his passing by paying tribute to him by hanging a picture of him in the pavilion where he used to work. This will be an appropriate way to honour him. This will be the method that we keep his memory alive.
