The 3rd season of the Lanka Premier League kicked off with a glittering opening ceremony at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, officially kicking off the T20 fever in the islands of Sri Lanka. The Lanka Premier League 22 will feature a total of 24 matches. In the Final Round Games, the two teams with the most points will play in Qualifier 1, while the teams with the third and fourth most points will play in the “Eliminator.”
The winner of “Qualifier 1” will play against the winner of “Eliminator” in “Qualifier 2,” and the winner of that game will advance to the Final. The loser of “Qualifier 1” will play against the winner of “Eliminator.”The Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium in Hambantota will host the Final.
The Lanka Premier League, which will have five teams competing for the title Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings, Dambulla Giants, Kandy Warriors, and Colombo Stars is all set to make even greater strides this year thanks to the addition of a slew of sponsors including, but not limited to, Wolf777 News, Sky247, and FairPlay along with other sponsors.
