The most important lesson learned by India from their ODI series victory over the West Indies, according to former Indian wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel, is Kuldeep Yadav’s performance. The left-handed wristspinner, who took seven wickets in three games, has been at the top of his form.
Over the last 12 months, Kuldeep has experienced tremendous success. He has adjusted his bowling style and became speedier in the air. He got the outcomes he wanted from that, and he now appears to be more productive than before.
Following India’s series victory against West Indies, Parthiv Patel had the following to say about Kuldeep Yadav to Cricbuzz:
“Kuldeep Yadav is India’s biggest asset in the series. He did get his wickets, but the biggest plus was the assurance with which he bowled.”
He went on to say:
“West Indies’ victory over India in the second ODI had caused India a little bit of a worry. India, though, made a stunning return. They were at the height of their brutality and gave West Indies no chance at all.
On Ishan Kishan’s performances, Parthiv Patel
Ishan Kishan’s performance in the whole ODI series, which included scoring three consecutive fifty-scores and winning Player of the Series honours, was praised by Parthiv Patel. The former cricketer mentioned Kishan’s ability to rotate the strike, which wasn’t previously connected to his ODI performance.
Regarding this, Patel said:
“When Mayers was swinging the ball, Ishan used his feet pretty well. They tested him with short balls a few times, but he hooked and pulled pretty well each time. Ishan Kishan’s batting has been questioned, but he has been decisive in his stroke play throughout the series and has been rotating the strike.
Shubman Gill received accolades from Parthiv Patel for his solid 85 following a challenging Test series. Added him:
“He (Gill) didn’t have a strong Test series, and he also struggled to get runs in a few games of the one-day series. But he had a good attitude when he entered the game tonight and batted. He used his feet extremely well against spinners and was as harsh as usual with his backfoot stroke.
It will be fascinating to see whether India decides to try Ishan Kishan in the middle order if Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are back in the starting lineup for the Asia Cup.
