Kohli will miss the first two Test matches vs England due to “personal reasons”. During the first of India’s five Test matches on Sunday in Hyderabad, Kohli did not attend the team’s optional practice on Monday. Following his participation in India’s series-ending Test match, a 1-1 draw at home against Afghanistan, Kohli was forced to skip the first Twenty20 International because of personal matters, but he was back for the next two matches.
While Kohli took a break for the white-ball matches in South Africa, he returned to India and skipped the three-day intra-squad game that preceded the two Test matches there. According to a BCCI statement, Indian batsman Virat Kohli will likely miss the first two Test matches against England.

Kohli will miss the first two Test matches vs England due to “personal reasons”
According to a BCCI statement, Indian batsman Virat Kohli is expected to miss the first two Test matches against England. According to the announcement, Kohli requested a personal leave of absence from the first two Test matches.
Additionally, according to the announcement, Virat personally informed India captain Rohit Sharma of his choice. “Virat has spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention,” according to the press statement.
The BCCI stated that it accepts Kohli’s choice and that the player has received backing from the team management. The board further requested that during this time, Virat Kohli’s privacy be respected. And that the public and media refrain from speculating about the nature of his motivations. Supporting the Indian cricket team as they take on the next obstacles in the Test series should continue to be the major priority.
As of now, Kohli’s successor has not been announced. The player who would take the position of the star batter in the Test team for the first two matches, which are scheduled to be played in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam, will be named shortly, according to the BCCI.
A major setback to Team India’s intentions to improve their ranking in the World Test Championships (WTC) rankings is Kohli’s absence from the first two Tests. It would be intriguing to watch who bats at number four and replaces Kohli in the playing eleven. KL Rahul will most likely follow Shreyas Iyer, which implies that KS Bharat will undoubtedly hold wickets for India throughout the first two Test matches.
