KL Rahul to skip the SA T20Is: Rishabh Pant will be captain of India for the SA T20Is
After KL Rahul was declared out from the series owing to a right groin injury, India would be headed by Rishabh Pant in the T20I series versus South Africa.
KL Rahul, who’d been set to captain India in the forthcoming five-match T20I series against South Africa, has been ruled out due to injury, the BCCI said on Wednesday via Twitter. Kuldeep Yadav, left-arm wrist spinner, has been declared out from the series due to injury. Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper batter, will now lead India in the series. Hardik Pandya has been named as the team’s vice-captain.
After more than two months of IPL cricket, India’s Designated Captain Rohit Sharma, previous captain Virat Kohli, and elite paceman Jasprit Bumrah are among a slew of standout players who are kept for this match.
For the home series against South Africa, the All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant as captain and Hardik Pandya as vice-captain.
