He claimed that India bunched Bangladesh out for 150 in their first innings to win the match. “That gave us plenty of time to try to win the game. If Bangladesh had scored 350 in the first innings, the match could have finished in a draw.
“It won’t be easy for you to win Test cricket. We were aware of that, and we have played enough Test cricket to understand that the opposition will occasionally play better, and we must respect that. “We have to keep working,” Rahul said.
“Over the course of the five days, I am extremely proud of our dedication and energy. There had been some concern prior to the test regarding how the body would react and whether or not we would be able to maintain our focus and intensity while remaining on the path for that length of time. We won the first game, though, and performed fairly well.
Kuldeep, a wrist spinner, helped the team, according to Rahul, on pitches that don’t help bowlers much. “There was not much (on the wicket) for the spinners, and Debris (R Ashwin) also felt that way, but Kuldeep brought an alternate assortment, so we played Kuldeep on this pitch,” He said that losing the 1-2 ODI series was a little disappointing.
“We played good cricket, but we couldn’t capitalize on the big moments.” That left me rather frustrated. “You tend to forget what happened in the past and you try to focus on what we need to do because it is a completely new format now, with new people and fresh energy coming in,” Rahul stated.
Playing test cricket is something everyone in the locker room is looking forward to. We approach playing Test cricket with a desire to win matches and a lot of enthusiasm. We are aware of the difficulty, which is a part of what makes Test cricket so enjoyable.
