On Saturday, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur unveiled the mascot ‘Dhakad,’ as well as the official emblem. And jersey of the Fourth Khelo India Youth Events in Panchkula, praising Haryana’s efforts to host the games.

During the ceremony, Thakur was accompanied by Haryana Chief Minister ML Khattar, Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, and Haryana Sports Minister Sandeep Singh. The Khelo India University Games concluded last week. And Thakur believes that Haryana will set an example by hosting the fourth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games from June 4 to June 13 in Panchkula and other locations.
“The games’ mascot is ‘Dhakad,’ and I am confident that these games will be Dhakad as well.” The Khelo India Games are Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ambition for taking India ahead in sports. More than 3,500 participants participated in the Khelo India University Games in Bengaluru, with a total of 7,500 players and officials.”
“Over 8,500 players will compete in the fourth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games.” While KIUG had two traditional games, Khelo India Youth Games includes five traditional games such as gatka, thang-ta, kalarippayattu, mallakhamb, and yogasana. The games were originally set for October-November of last year, but were moved to February of this year because to the Covid-19 epidemic. The games will take staged in 25 sports disciplines, including five indigenous sports, at Shahbad, Ambala, Chandigarh, Panchkula, and Delhi.
On Saturday, participants such as Tokyo Paralympics silver medalist Yogesh Kathuniya, boxer Amit Panghal, athlete Manjeet Chahal, shooter Manu Bhaker, archer Ridhi, and others attended the unveiling of the official mascot.
Two national records were broke in the Khelo India University Games last week, along with 20 other records. Swimmers Srihari Nataraj and Maana Patel, among others, shown their skill at Khelo India games and went on to compete at the international level, including the Olympics.
