Liverpool could be seeking an unprecedented quadruple, but boss Juergen Klopp claims that stress is not a concern as his team prepares to play Wolverhampton Wanderers on the last day of the Premier League season. Check out complete details about it below.
Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool Manager claims there is no strain in the quadruple quest
To seal the league championship, Liverpool must beat Wolves at home on Sunday and hope that leaders Manchester City collapse against Aston Villa.
“I will not able to comment about stress for the other team, but there is no stress for us,” said Klopp, whose club will also face Real Madrid in the Champions League final in a week.
“We know we have to win the football game, but we’ve known that for a while now.” It’s not about ‘what if.’ We don’t have that… It’s quite meaningful to us, therefore it’s a big plus for us. And it seems different if you have anything to lose, which we don’t.”
City defeated Liverpool to the championship on the last day of the 2018-19 season. Even if there is a recurrence on Sunday, Klopp stated his team would carry on making life very difficult for Pep Guardiola’s side.
“The worst setbacks in my life have led to the largest achievements in my life, wherever I went,” the German continued.
“No matter what happens on Sunday, we will not give up.” We will not give up. Yes, we have the best opponent in global football, which is unfortunate, but they have us in their sights, which is also not cool. So we’ll see.”
City is attempting to win their fourth league championship in five years, while Liverpool is attempting to win their second since the 2019-20 era.
