Neither Draymond Green nor Jordan Poole have released any further details about their incident since the incident last spring training. Green has certainly discussed this more than Poole, but it is mainly to reflect on his actions and admit wrongdoing. Green revealed a never-before-told truth about the Poole incident, during a recent podcast clip with Patrick Beverley.
Green said, “I just don’t kill people.” “Of course, conversations happen over time, and you don’t normally get triggered by something that quickly, to that extent. It’s a team; no one on my team is triggering me right away. We know what things you do.” Don’t say this in public. We know the things you have to stop at.”
What to know more?
From Green’s comments, it was clear that his problem with Poole was increasing over time. Green also said as if Poole had said something that crossed the line. With comments like “I just don’t criticize people” and “We know there are things you don’t say in public,” it’s clear Green is suggesting there was an atmosphere of frustration among teammates in the pool incident. There was more to the moment than that.
As mentioned above, most of Green’s previous comments on the incident were admissions of wrongdoing, as well as acknowledgment of the hit’s impact on Golden State’s disappointing season. The clip reveals additional information about what led the Warriors leader to react like this.
