Another new record was created in the ongoing England- New Zealand 3rd Test match in the leads. Here Jonny Bairstow and Overton had the biggest partnership in Test cricket history for the seventh wicket. Both players have contributed 209* runs. By the end of the 2nd day’s play, the team England has scored 284 runs for the loss of six wickets.
England was in a crisis situation at one point, losing 5 wickets for 55 runs. In such a situation, Jonny Bairstow took over the innings. The partnership of Jonny and Overton changed the direction of the match.
Jonny Bairstow becomes 24th English batsman to score 5000 test runs
Bairstow returned unbeaten on 130 runs. Overton with 89* is supporting him very well. From NZ Trent Boult took three wickets. While Nile Wegener also succeeds to pick two wickets. Tim Southee got a single breakthrough so far.

Third NZ batsman to score 3 centuries in a series
Daryl has become only the third batsman from Kiwis to score three centuries in a Test series. Before Daryl, Andrew Jones and Ross Taylor had done this feat. Andrew Jones scored 3 centuries in a series against Sri Lanka in 1991 and Ross Taylor in 2013 against West Indies. However, both those series were played on their home soil. In this way, Daryl Mitchell has become the first NZ batsman to score 3 centuries in a Test series abroad.
Blundell is out for a half-century
The NZ started playing on the second day with a score of 225/5. Tom Blundell remained unbeaten on 45 on the first day and scored the 6th half-century of his career. But, after that, he does not succeed to stay at the crease for long. Potts has taken his wicket. Mitchell and Blundell contributed 120 runs for the sixth wicket partnership.
