After scoring the leading 4-stroke Poston says It feels great, the last week has been great with the last few rounds going good. So, I will keep riding on that momentum and will try to take it forward. I didn’t change anything, just take a few good looks when they come. When I don’t have a good number, I just try to play it smartly.
In the 2010 victory, JT Poston was a stroke of the tournament with the 36-hole record set by Steve Stricker.
McCarthy at second after a 65
After playing in the afternoon, when rain delayed the play in the morning Denny McCarthy was second at 11 under with a 65.
McCarthy says ” Got to make the birdies. There’s no other way around at this place as you can’t coast around making pars here.”
While Gotterup said, ” It was an interesting play of the day, a bit of up and down as compared to yesterday where I was more under control.”
The former Rutgers player, Christopher Gotterupon in sponsor exemption on the field, has 67 to match Emiliano Grillo (64), Chris Naegel(66), and Matthias Schwab (65).
While JT Poston who was the 2019 Wyndham Championship winner for the lone PGA Tour title in the travelers’ championship had an opening round of 70, 67, 64 and finished behind Xander Schaffele’s two strokes.
He says” if one thing that I learned last week after playing well on Thursday was to keep the pedal down. This golf course can yield more birdies but at the same time, you have to go out and hit some aggressive golf shots.
