Jharkhand gears up for the two-day tribal festival on Ranchi’s Morabadi ground: The Jharkhand government is excited to hold a two-day tribal festival, beginning on the 9th of August 2022, Tuesday. This event is hosted to mark the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples. The Festival is popularly known as International Tribal Day.
There is an array of programs related to tribal art, culture, tradition, and literature. All these are set to be organized during the two-day festival here at Ranchi’s Morabadi ground. Sports events, panel discussions, seminars, exhibitions, and tribal fashion shows are events to look forward to.
Rajya Sabha member and JMM supremo Shibu Soren will be inaugurating the festival. The inauguration will take place in presence of Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is invited to grace the concluding ceremony of the event on Wednesday.
Choubey and Welfare secretary KK Soan visited the venue to review the preparations. Choubey directed the officials to conduct proper management of the stage, VIP lounge, exhibition gallery, food pavilion, and entry and exit points.
Artists from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Sikkim, and North East are participating in the festival. Local artists of Jharkhand are invited to the program.
Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren during the Logo’s launch for the festival on August 4 commented, “This is for the first time since the inception of the state, a grand Jharkhand Tribal Festival is being organized, which will be participated by representatives of tribal community from Jharkhand and other states. The objective of the programme is to take the tribal civilization and culture on the national stage.” Tribal Research Institute director Ranendra Kumar interacted with the media on Monday, “Seminars on tribal history, philosophy, anthropology, and literature will be organized on Tuesday and Wednesday. Experts from various fields from India and abroad will participate in the seminars.” More than 100 stalls will be set up at the venue. The local tribal crafts of 24 districts of the state will hold exhibitions. A tribal fashion show will be conducted at the festival where tribal costumes will also be depicted. Apart from known names in the fashion world, Miss India contestant Riya Tirkey is also invited to the program, the release said.
To promote tribal cuisines, food stalls are to be set up at the festival. The stalls will be present so that people can relish the tribal delicacies.
