Jemimah Ivan Rodrigues is a popular and well-known part of the Indian Women’s Cricket team. She is known among women Cricket and across the globe for scoring a double hundred in an ODI cricket match. Though her name doesn’t sound like a native Indian name, she was born and brought up in India.
The right-hand batter and with a right arm off break bowling style, she is one the youngest on the team. The 21-year-old Women cricketer started playing in Mumbai. She has many runs and records to her name since she joined the Women Indian Cricket team.
International Career
She started playing domestic cricket when she was 12 years old for Mumbai Women’s cricket. Later, she got selected for the Maharashtra U-19 team and smashed 202 runs in 163 balls against the Saurashtra team in the ODI. She made her international T20 debut against South Africa in 2018.
Though in her debut match Jemimah did not get a chance to bat much, she was only able to make 1 run. In her debut year, she got selected in the Indian squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World T20 cup. She gave one of her best performances which led her to win ICC standout player of the team. She plays with Supernovas in the IPL.
Personal Life
Born to a Cricket coach father Ivan Rodigrues, she took interest in cricket at an early age. Her mother Lavita Rodigrues is a homemaker, she has two brothers. She is currently unmarried and single. Jemimah is highly active on her Instagram account, she often uploads memorable pictures with her family. Since the beginning of her career, her family has been supportive. Her best friend Smriti Mandhana is also part of the Indian cricket team and a top-order batter.
