Jasprit Bumrah writes an emotional social media post about missing T20 WC.
Jasprit Bumrah writes an emotional social media post about missing T20 WC. India’s best fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, will not be able to play in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup because he is injured. Bumrah shared a heartfelt note on Twitter as he tries to get better while the rest of the team gets ready for the campaign. He said he was “gutted” that he couldn’t play in the T20 World Cup.
The bowler posted a picture of himself in an Indian jersey and wrote, “I am gutted that I won’t be a part of the T20 World Cup this time, but thankful for the wishes, care and support I’ve received from my loved ones. As I recover, I’ll be cheering on the team through their campaign in Australia.”
Bumrah and injuries
There were rumors about Bumrah’s back injury and whether or not he would be able to play in the World Cup. The BCCI cleared the air and said that he would not be able to play in the tournament. Just before India’s T20I series against South Africa began, he hurt his back. Before this, he was injured and couldn’t play in the Asia Cup 2022 as well. He was taken to the NCA in Bengaluru, where he was cared for by the medical staff.
A setback for India?
This is a huge setback for India, especially since Bumrah has an outstanding record in Australia. India will miss a bowler who can attack the batting lineup, move the ball both ways, and throw yorkers in the last few overs. Ravindra Jadeja, an all-around player, will also miss the tournament because he has had knee surgery. Jadeja has been replaced by Axar Patel, but BCCI hasn’t said who will take over for Bumrah yet. Deepak Chahar, who is currently in the reserves, might get a chance to join the team. Mohammed Shami also has a slight chance of making the team, as his quick speed would be important in Australia.
