According to a statement released on Saturday by the Indian Cricket Control Board (BCCI). Bumrah was chosen for the home ODI series against Sri Lanka in January subsequent to missing the T20 World Cup.
Since then, he has not played for the team, and he is also not in the Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2023 squad.
“Mr. Jasprit Bumrah had a procedure on his lower back in New Zealand that was successful, and he is still free of pain.”
The BCCI announced in a statement that at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. Mr. Bumrah started receiving rehab management this past Friday.
The doctor suggested the fast bowler start his rehabilitation six weeks following the surgery.
Shreyas Iyer, a player who is 28 years old, will have back surgery in a week and will return to the NCA shortly after.
According to a report on the player’s recovery process that was also made public by the board.
“Mr. Shreyas Iyer will have surgery for a medical condition affecting his lower back in a week.”
The statement further said that after spending fourteen days under the doctor’s care. He will return to the NCA for restoration.
However, Iyer was unable to play in the entire white-ball series against New Ze due to his lower back injury.
