Jacques Kallis makes a statement about Kohli, says he knows what’s best for his squad
Jacques Kallis makes a statement about Kohli, says he knows what’s best for his squad: Jacques Kallis is making a comeback to competitive cricket with the India Capitals in the Legends League Cricket. It has been a long time since he has played, but he feels that his training after he retired has helped him stay in shape. “The body is doing okay. I’ve been training even after retiring so it’s not been that difficult adjusting to competitive cricket after so many years. It’s been really fun catching up with all the boys as well in the legends league cricket”.
Upcoming World Cup
The T20 World Cup is also coming up in a month, and Kallis told Times Now that he thinks India and South Africa will be tough teams to beat in this year’s tournament. “India will peak at the right time. There is no point playing good cricket before a big tournament so I’m not worried about them. They have the experience of playing in high pressure tournaments. As for South Africa, the preparations are going well and it should be a great World Cup”.
India beats South Africa 4-1 in head-to-head T20 World Cup matches. Still, former South African captain Jacques Kallis thinks that could change this year. “I hope South Africa can change the statistics in their favor this time around. The team is playing well.”
Kallis on criticism
Jacques Kallis also talked about the criticism Virat Kohli was getting and said it wasn’t necessary.
“Every cricketer goes through a rough patch. It’s very normal. What’s important is you peak at the right time and I’m certain Virat Kohli realizes what he needs to do for his team in Australia and he will be working upon that,” he added.
As part of their upcoming home-games itinerary, India will face Australia today in the 2nd T20 at VCA stadium Nagpur.
