In the Indian Super League, Jamshedpur FC beat Hyderabad FC 3-2. For Jamshedpur, Ritwik Das, Jay Emmanuel Thomas, and Daniel Chukwu scored goals; for Hyderabad, Bartholomew Ogbeche scored twice.
On Saturday, Jamshedpur FC defeated Hyderabad FC 3-2 in a thrilling Indian Super League (ISL) match at the GMC Balayogi Stadium.
Ritwik Das scored in the 22nd minute, Jay Emmanuel Thomas scored in the 27th minute, and Daniel Chukwu scored in the 29th minute to defeat Hyderabad. Bartholomew Ogbeche scored twice for Hyderabad, but Joao Victor missed a penalty.
Manolo Marquez, the manager of Hyderabad FC, made a few adjustments, placing debutante Lalbiakhlua Jongte in goal and using an all-Indian backline.
His team made a solid start to the game and took the lead when Bart Ogbeche headed in a corner kick from Borja Herrera.
However, Jamshedpur’s five-minute penalty decision and Ritwik Das’ header altered the game. Before Chukwu beat Nim Dorjee Tamang and dinked one over Biaka to give Jamshedpur a two-goal lead, Jay Thomas converted the penalty.
After Eli Sabia was sent off for dragging Javi Siverio to the ground, the second half took off. As a result, Hyderabad pushed for a goal, which they almost got when Abdul Rabeeh’s cross was handled inside the box, leading to a penalty kick for Hyderabad.
However, Joao Victor, making his first appearance over a month off the bench, could not score a goal against Vishal Yadav from the spot.
Ogbeche’s late goal gave Hyderabad the lead, and a late goal could have given them all three points.
Just before the final whistle, Javi Siverio had a chance.
But his header went straight at the goalkeeper as Hyderabad failed to take advantage of their chances and lost by a narrow margin.
As they prepare for their final league game against Kerala Blasters on February 26 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi, Hyderabad now has 39 points from 19 games.
