IPL Winner Full List 2008-2023: After defeating Gujarat Titans (GT) in the IPL 2023 championship game on May 29 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad, MS Dhoni has led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to their fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) championship.
The franchise, the most dependable team in tournament history, has won four championships prior to this year in 2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021. The most in the history of the competition, this was CSK’s tenth final.
The Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have dominated the 16th edition of this renowned T20 competition, but we have also witnessed a few other teams win the championship.
IPL 2008: Rajasthan Royals

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) defeated the ominous-looking Royal Challengers Bangalore by 58 runs in the IPL final to become the first team to win back-to-back championships.
IPL 2012 Kolkata Knight Riders
In the match that decided the IPL championship, the star-stubbed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) side, coached by Gautam Gambhir, prevented CSK from winning three consecutive championships.
IPL 2013 Mumbai Indians
Mumbai Indians, headed by Rohit Sharma, became the first team to win the sixth IPL season when they defeated Chennai Super Kings by 23 runs.
IPL 2014 Kolkata Knights Riders
After defeating an in-form Kings XI Punjab by three wickets in the championship game, Gautam Gambhir’s KKR become the second team to win the IPL in 2014.
IPL 2015 Mumbai Indians
Rohit Sharma won the IPL championship for the second time by defeating CSK and Dhoni by a score of 41 runs in the final.
IPL 2016 Sunrisers Hyderabad
Even after participating in the Eliminator match in the playoffs, SRH is the only team to have won the IPL championship. David Warner became the third Australian to win the IPL championship after his team defeated the powerful RCB by eight runs.
IPL 2017 Mumbai Indians
After defeating Steve Smith’s Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) by a single run in the gripping championship game, Rohit Sharma led Side became the first side with three IPL victories.
IPL 2018 Chennai Super Kings
Chennai defeated the formidable Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in the final to claim their third IPL championship after serving a two-year suspension.
IPL 2019 Mumbai Indians
The team led by Rohit Sharma easily defeated CSK in the championship match, winning their fourth overall trophy as they edged the squad captained by MS Dhoni by one run.
IPL 2020 Mumbai Indians
The IPL took conducted in the UAE in between the difficult hurdles brought on by the polio outbreak, and Mumbai Indians once again won to become the only team to win four IPL championships. They defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by five wickets in the game that decided the title, making them the IPL’s most successful team.

Despite rumors of MS Dhoni’s impending retirement, CSK stunned everyone with their season-long consistency, matching MI for a fifth championship by defeating Gujarat by five wickets in the championship game.
