The BCCI does not permit its players to participate in any other global T20 league because they compensate for it with the money paid alone in the IPL. The Indian Premier League cannot be compared to any other cricket league in the world. The PSL, on the other hand, is a much smaller franchise-level T20 league in which players of the highest caliber are placed in the Platinum section and can earn up to $170,000.
The sponsorship money for the entire PSL is nowhere near as much as the auction money for four IPL franchises. Even the prize money for PSL winners is close to three and a half crores, which is not even close to what many players pay for their contracts. The IPL franchise purse is 95 crores, with the highest bidders earning up to 15 to 16 crores, such as Sam Curran this year for 18.5 crores in the 2023 mini-auction and KL Rahul for 17 crores in the 2022 edition.
