AB de Villiers
A former cricketer for South Africa is hopeful that the SA20 league will do for India what the Indian Premier League did for South Africa. De Villiers stated before the first tournament that the league should serve as a foundation for South African youth and comes at an ideal time for the country.
The SA20, in my opinion, comes at an excellent time for South African cricket. De Villiers stated to Cricket South Africa, “We have seen the amazing things that these leagues have done to cricket in particular nations.”
To give our adolescents this base and the establishment to get openness at the most significant level against the best players on the planet is what’s truly going on with it,” the previous hitter said.

A promising batsman for MI Cape Town is one of the youngsters De Villiers will keep a close eye on. Since breaking Shikhar Dhawan’s record for most runs in a tournament at the ICC men’s Under-19 World Cup earlier this year, the 19-year-old has been a revelation.
He continued to perform well in the IPL, Caribbean Premier League, and Cricket SA’s T20 Challenge, where he scored 162 runs in just 57 balls.
For a lot of the other players and me, it was a big deal. Our lives were forever altered when the IPL began. Cricket is incredibly dear to the people. With the host group as well as they support individuals in different groups, too, De Villiers said.
When asked about IPL experience
de Villiers stated that sitting in the same dressing room as the best players in the world really helped him grow quickly in his early years.
The greatest thing that stands apart for me are the individuals that I met. I recall the time I spent with Glenn McGrath. I suddenly found myself in the changing room with him, having a beer, and he was this tough guy.
