Without the sacrifices made by his older brother Vikrant
23-year-old all-rounder Vivrant Sharma would not have been able to impress in domestic white-ball tournaments or secure a stunning Rs 2.6 crore deal at the IPL 2023 auction.
When the brothers from Jammu and Kashmir lost their father in 2020.
Vikrant took over the family business to make sure Vivrant continued working toward his goal of playing professional cricket.
Vikrant was a fast bowler who wanted to be one and played at the state university level.
In February 2021, Vivrant made his domestic debut for Jammu and Kashmir as a result of the big call from the big brother.
18 months later, in the Kochi mini-auction, Vivrant became one of the most expensive uncapped players purchased.
Vivrant was overjoyed after watching the IPL 2022 auction on television from the J&K team hotel in Ahmedabad.
When SRH and Kolkata Knight Riders bid for him, the price went up from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 2.6 crore, and he was on the edge of his seat.
In an interview with PTI, Vivrant credited his brother for all of his success
The all-rounder called his mother and brother shortly after the auction to announce the good news. Indeed, the family was overjoyed.
“All of it is due to my brother’s sacrifice. Otherwise, I would not have been here.
Although I struggled academically, Vikrant ensured that I continued to concentrate on cricket and made progress.
BIG YUVRAJ SINGH FAN Vivrant is a big fan of Yuvraj Singh, the all-rounder who won the World Cup.
Vivrant also stated that he has been influenced by Irfan Pathan, who has worked with J&K cricket in the past. Vivrant is a clear striker of the ball himself.
“Since I was a child, I’ve been following him (Yuvraj); He exudes a certain aura.
When he was performing at Palam (Delhi), I had the opportunity to meet him and take a picture with him.
He is still in touch with us because he is a player’s coach.
He’ll be overjoyed today, I’m sure,” he continued.
Vivrant will join Jammu and Kashmir teammates Umran Malik and Abdul Samad at SunRisers Hyderabad.
He will have the opportunity to work with the team’s new head coach, the legendary Brian Lara.
In point of fact, Abdul Samad was the one who helped Vivrant experience the Indian Premier League for the first time by bringing his J&K teammate to the nets as a net bowler.
After a successful domestic season over the past year, the IPL deal was signed.
In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Vivrant was in excellent form, scoring 395 runs in eight matches, including two centuries.
Vivrant’s November performance for Jammu and Kashmir in their Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022 campaign.
In which he scored 154 runs without scoring a run from just 124 balls, was an excellent audition for the IPL auction.
He also hit six sixes and 18 boundaries.
