Mumbai has risen to number six following yesterday’s victory.
In match 25 of the IPL 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi Worldwide Field in Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), extending their winning streak to nine games. MI has won three of their last five games. In MI’s competitive 192/5 score, Cameron Green scored his first IPL fifty (64 off 40), supported by Ishan Kishan (38 off 31) and Tilak Varma (37 off 17). MI went on to win the match by 14 runs after Jason Behrendorff bowled SRH out for 178 and took two early wickets.
In the second finished, as SRH pursued 193, Jason Behrendorff returned a sound Harry Stream (9 off 7) to give them a fast lift. After hitting a few fours, including one off the previous pitch, Brook appeared to be in good health. Naturally, Behrendorff came back strong and struck the Britain player out off the accompanying pitch. SRH was 25/2 when the Australian pacer came back and caught Rahul Tripathi behind in his next over.
The SRH innings was given some momentum by Mayank Agarwal and Heinrich Klaasen, but the orange army lost by 14 runs in the end.
They are one of five teams with six points after five games, alongside Lucknow, Chennai, Gujarat, and Punjab. With eight spots, the Rajasthan Royals, who are two spots behind, stand out. KKR, RCB, and SRH all have four centers, while Delhi Capitals are at the bottom of the table and have lost all of their games thus far.
The RCB manager Faf du Plessis currently wears an orange cap with a strike rate of 172 and 259 runs scored across five games. Up until this point this season, Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, David Warner, and Venkatesh Iyer have scored the most runs.
With 11 scalps each, Yuzvendra Chahal, Engraving Wood, and Rashid Khan share the top spot on the list of wicket takers. In the five matches that they have participated in thus far, Mohammad Shami and Tushar Deshpande have each claimed ten wickets.
The Rajasthan Royals, who currently hold the lead, will attempt to extend their lead in a match on April 19 in Jaipur. The Lucknow Super Goliaths will be their opponent.
