The tournament will be rolling out under the title sponsorship of Tata. This season is popularly is known as the Tata IPL 2022. The format for the tournament is going to be Group stage and playoffs.
India will be hosting all the fixtures for the event. Where there are going to be 10 participants and 74 fixtures in the tournament.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has lend the proposal to host the matches for IPL 2022. However, the BCCI is yet to comment on the venue. The authorities have decided that they will be taking their final decision on February 20, 2022.

IPL 2022 Venue: BCCI says ‘Will Decide Final Venue On This Date’
BCCI is on the hosting of the matches for IPL 2022 in India. However, if things do not work out the authorities have also kept South Africa an option.
The BCCI is yet to decide upon the venue for IPL 2022 where they have finalsie that the franchises will be hosting the meeting on February 20, 2022, and take up the decision on the venue.
The tournament is expected to start rolling out with the matches on March 27. The fixtures will be continuing to roll out till May.
Jay Shah releases an official statement on IPL 2022. He says, “I am delighted to confirm that the 15th season of the IPL will start in the last week of March and will run until May end. A majority of the team owners expressed their wish that the tournament be held in India.”
“The BCCI was always keen on staging the 2022 edition that will see two new teams -Ahmedabad and Lucknow- in India.”
Adding further he states, ‘ I can tell you that we will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that IPL stays in India. The BCCI has not compromised on the health and safety of its stakeholders in the past and concurrently works on Plan B since the COVID-19 situation with new variants remains fluid. The mega IPL Auction will place on February 12-13 and we will look in venues before that.”
